AtkinsRéalis, a world-class engineering and nuclear services company with a legacy dating back to 1911, is seeking a Stations Inspector – Underground (U/G) to join their team in Dubai. The Stations Inspector role focuses on ensuring the safety, operational efficiency, and cleanliness of underground stations. This involves routine safety inspections, monitoring compliance with local and federal regulations, addressing operational issues, and supporting station staff and passengers. The position requires working a 60-hour week and demands physical fitness, excellent attention to detail, and strong communication skills.
Responsibilities:

Conduct regular safety inspections of underground station infrastructure including platforms, escalators, elevators, and emergency equipment

Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and operational standards

Report and escalate safety hazards and maintenance issues to appropriate teams

Monitor station operations to ensure smooth functionality and schedule adherence

Oversee crowd control during peak hours and emergency situations
-
Coordinate with control rooms to manage operational disruptions or delays
-
Assist passengers with inquiries, directions, and accessibility requirements
-
Address and escalate passenger complaints as needed
-
Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, and operational activities

Support audits and inspections by regulatory authorities

Act as a point of contact and lead coordination during emergencies and evacuations
-
Collaborate with station staff, maintenance teams, and external contractors
-
Provide timely reports and updates to supervisors and management
Qualifications & Skills:
-
High school diploma or equivalent required; certification in safety management or related field preferred

Minimum 2 years experience in public transportation, safety inspection, or related roles
-
Familiarity with underground station operations and safety protocols

Strong attention to detail and ability to identify hazards

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Proficient in inspection tools, reporting software, and basic computer applications

Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to emergencies

Physically fit to perform inspections and emergency duties

Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays

Knowledge of local transportation regulations and guidelines
