Job Summary

Cleveland Clinic Abu Dhabi is looking for a Staff Nurse in the Operating Room (OR) with recent experience in Transplant, Cardiac, or Neuro Surgery. This position involves delivering both general and specialized patient care, following evidence-based nursing procedures. You will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing patient care while meeting the unique needs of individuals across all age groups.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Conduct timely patient admission, assessment, and planning of care.

• Provide direct patient care, monitoring and documenting patient progress and the effectiveness of care.

• Address patients’ educational needs, considering cultural and psychosocial factors, and ensure understanding of care.

• Administer prescribed medications and treatments in accordance with hospital policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with the healthcare team, maintaining patient confidentiality and fostering a family-centered care environment.

• Promote patient safety, report errors, and engage in evidence-based practice to improve care outcomes.

• Delegate appropriate nursing tasks within the team and assist in training and education related to patient care and hospital systems.

• Participate in patient safety initiatives, reporting near-misses and errors in a timely manner.

• Complete charge capture education and ensure accurate billing as per CCAD protocols.

Qualifications and Experience Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing or an equivalent qualification is required.

• Minimum of two (2) years of post-graduate experience in a General Surgery or Operating Room setting.

• Valid national nursing license is required.

• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification from AHA or an equivalent organization, or must be obtained within 3 months of employment.

• ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification required, or must be obtained within 6 months of employment.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.

• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) is strongly preferred.

• Fluency in English is required.

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
