Our client is a leading multinational design consultancy with an impressive portfolio of high-profile architectural and interior design projects across the GCC. With a commitment to design excellence and industry innovation, they are now hiring a Specification Writer to join their Dubai team.

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-driven and technically proficient Specification Writer with a strong background in architectural and interior design documentation. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing material and product specifications, particularly within the UAE and GCC construction landscape. Previous experience with PMCs or reputed consultancy firms is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, edit, and coordinate comprehensive interior design outline specifications at various project stages (Schematic to Final Design).

• Interpret design drawings to prepare technical material specifications used during the procurement and construction phases.

• Develop specifications using international formats (CSI MasterFormat, NBS) aligned with industry and project requirements.

• Conduct detailed product and material research, ensuring compliance with international and local codes, sustainability guidelines (LEED, Estidama, Green Building), and project requirements.

• Collaborate closely with architects, interior designers, and consultants to evaluate material suitability, finishes, and installation methods.

• Review project documentation to ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy of technical descriptions.

• Assist in system constructability analysis and coordinate documentation with design teams.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 3–5 years of specification writing experience in architectural or interior design firms.

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Diploma in Architectural Technology, or a construction-related discipline.

• Strong familiarity with international and GCC material standards and construction practices.

• Hands-on experience with CSI/NBS formats and specification writing tools.

• Exceptional attention to detail, technical writing skills, and English language proficiency (grammar and spelling).

• Strong analytical thinking, multitasking, and coordination capabilities.
