SEHA is looking for an experienced Sonographer to join the Imaging Section at AHS Zafaranah. The role requires independent operation or collaboration with senior sonographers to carry out ultrasound procedures, interpret results, and ensure high standards of diagnostic imaging.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Duties:

• Perform all ultrasound procedures in line with department protocols.

• Use detailed anatomical knowledge to produce high-quality diagnostic images.

• Evaluate image quality and consult with radiologists for further tests.

• Handle cross-sectional imaging and coordinate advanced procedures when needed.

• Ensure the safe, effective use of imaging equipment and report malfunctions.

• Advise clinical staff on techniques and imaging best practices.

• Maintain clean, organized workspaces and restock supplies.

Managerial & Administrative:

• Monitor and report material/equipment shortages.

• Keep accurate inventory records for restocking.

Quality & Safety:

• Follow quality control and safety procedures including infection control.

• Maintain confidentiality of all patient information.

• Comply with SOPs, quality assurance tests, and participate in clinical audits.

Education & Development:

• Conduct and attend educational sessions, peer reviews, and clinical presentations.

• Mentor interns and participate in onboarding new employees.

• Maintain regulatory compliance including licenses and certifications.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Required:

  • 2+ years post-graduate experience in ultrasound in an acute care hospital (including Doppler, OBGYN, abdominal imaging).

  • UAE Nationals: Minimum 2 years’ experience in general radiography.

• Desired:

  • Postgraduate diploma or certificate in Ultrasound Imaging.

Skills & Competencies:

• Strong understanding of anatomy and pathology.

• Ability to operate ultrasound equipment independently.

• Effective communication with medical teams and patients.

• Knowledge of quality and infection control practices.

• Capacity to remain up to date with continuing education and regulatory standards.
