The American University in the Emirates (AUE), located in Dubai International Academic City, is seeking a talented and strategic Social Media Specialist to elevate its digital presence and drive engagement across multiple platforms. This full-time, on-site position is ideal for a bilingual (Arabic and English) communicator with a strong creative portfolio and a deep understanding of digital storytelling, platform trends, and audience engagement.
The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in promoting AUE’s academic programs, brand identity, and campus community across social platforms including Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and Facebook.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with AUE’s branding and communication goals

Create, schedule, and publish engaging, visually consistent content tailored to different platforms

Monitor platform analytics and KPIs, optimizing performance through data-driven decisions

Collaborate with marketing, PR, academic, and student services teams to align messaging and ensure timely, relevant content

Build and nurture online communities by actively engaging with followers, influencers, and relevant stakeholders

Provide live, real-time social media coverage during major university events

Train and support departments on social media best practices for consistent brand messaging

Stay ahead of emerging trends, tools, and platform updates to enhance AUE’s digital presence

Prepare regular reports and insights to support marketing strategy development
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field

4–6 years of hands-on experience managing social media for a brand, institution, or organization

A compelling content portfolio showcasing creativity, campaign impact, and measurable growth metrics
Skills & Competencies:
-
Fluency in Arabic and English (spoken and written) is required

Proficiency with social media management tools such as Hootsuite, Buffer, or Sprout Social

Strong analytical skills with experience using Meta Business Suite, Google Analytics, and similar platforms

Familiarity with design and editing tools including Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, and CapCut
-
Excellent copywriting and visual storytelling skills

Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities with attention to deadlines

Understanding of digital marketing trends in higher education is preferred

Salary:
AED 8,000 – 10,000 per month (depending on experience and portfolio quality)
