Elia Grid International (EGI) is seeking a Senior Power System Expert to join its team in Abu Dhabi. This hybrid contract role involves working on complex power system challenges with a focus on renewable energy sources integration, energy market balancing, and grid security. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in power system operations, HVDC, FACTS, and power electronics, contributing to projects focused on sustainability and economic efficiency in power transmission.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze and define operational principles for power systems, including steady-state and dynamic stability analysis.

• Perform modeling and validation of power system operations (e.g., load flow, short-circuit calculations, frequency and voltage stability).

• Conduct grid code compliance studies and support the analysis of grid reliability and security.

• Contribute to business development by identifying opportunities, building client relationships, and supporting proposal development.

• Participate in local and international projects focused on renewable energy system integration, system security, and energy transition.

• Collaborate with the business development team and ensure the integration of technical solutions with customer needs.

Required Skills to Be Successful:

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Applied Mathematics/Physics.

• 5-10 years of experience in Power System Operations and Security, with a focus on renewable energy system integration.

• Expertise in HVDC, FACTS, and power electronics, including transient stability, fault analysis, and dynamic performance assessments.

• Proficiency with power system simulation tools (PowerFactory, PSSE, PSCAD).

• Ability to translate complex data into strategic insights and actionable solutions.

• Fluent in English (knowledge of Arabic is an asset).

• Willingness to travel (30% worldwide mobility).
