Joby Aviation is seeking a passionate and experienced aviation professional to lead the launch of its urban air mobility (UAM) air taxi service in Dubai, in collaboration with the UAE’s Road and Transport Authority. This role is crucial for driving the development, planning, and execution of Joby’s UAM operations while ensuring regulatory compliance and operational safety. The Senior Manager Flight Operations will serve as the local operations relationship manager, collaborating closely with Joby’s UAE General Manager and US-based counterparts.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with Joby’s UAE General Manager to plan and execute Joby’s growth strategy for UAM operations in the UAE.

• Serve as the local point of contact for operations, ensuring compliance with Civil Aviation Regulations (CAR)-UAM and other applicable regulations.

• Hire and manage ground operations and control center personnel, and assist with hiring pilots and engineers.

• Serve as a subject matter expert for the development of eVTOL flight and ground procedures, ensuring safety and compliance.

• Lead the creation and revision of Joby’s operations manuals, procedures, and required documentation aligned with GCAA and ICAO guidance.

• Manage logistics for the shipping, import, set-up, and sustainment of Joby’s eVTOL aircraft, parts, tools, and ground support equipment.

• Act as a flight operations subject matter expert for commercial aviation in the UAE.

• Maintain key relationships with UAE regulatory authorities and facilitate communication between Joby and the local regulators.

• Track operational objectives and drive the identification and resolution of blockers, dependencies, and execution risks to enable the successful launch of air taxi operations.

• Tackle complex operational challenges independently, managing projects from problem definition to implementation.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Experience & Skills:

• Master’s degree in Business Administration or Aviation Management.

• Experience as an Accountable Manager in a Part CAT/NCC/NCO operation.

• Experience as a Nominated Person under Part ORO.AOC.135.

• Flight instructor certification (airplane, helicopter, or powered lift) and instrument rating.

• Experience working with various governmental and aviation transportation authorities in the UAE.

• Fluent in Arabic.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with urban air mobility operations.
