Role Overview

A leading international law firm in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Intellectual Property Lawyer to join its high-performing IP practice. This role offers the opportunity to advise a diverse, high-calibre client base on complex intellectual property matters in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering strategic IP advice, managing sophisticated transactional and contentious matters, and contributing to the development of the firm’s IP practice in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Advise clients on all aspects of intellectual property law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets

• Draft, review, and negotiate IP-related agreements, licenses, assignments, and commercial contracts

• Manage and lead IP litigation, enforcement actions, and dispute resolution matters

• Conduct IP due diligence in the context of M&A, investments, and commercial transactions

• Develop and implement IP protection and risk management strategies aligned with clients’ business objectives

• Provide strategic counsel on UAE, regional, and international IP law developments

• Stay current on changes in IP legislation, regulations, and case law

• Mentor, supervise, and support junior lawyers and legal staff within the team

Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Law with specialization in Intellectual Property or a related field

• Qualified lawyer, licensed to practice in a recognised jurisdiction (UAE admission preferred)

• Minimum 7+ years’ post-qualification experience in intellectual property law

• Prior experience within a reputable law firm or in-house legal department

• Strong working knowledge of UAE and international IP laws and procedures

• Proven track record handling complex IP litigation and transactional matters
