Job Summary:
QuantLase Lab is hiring a Senior Computational Scientist to join its pioneering team in Abu Dhabi. This full-time, on-site role involves designing and developing advanced computational models, simulations, and algorithms to enable photonic-based solutions for complex decision-making, optimization, and AI tasks. The position offers a collaborative and intellectually stimulating research environment with access to cutting-edge tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement computational algorithms for modeling physical systems, particularly photonic processors.

  • Enhance predictive modeling for complex systems using coupled oscillator networks.

  • Maintain and improve high-performance simulation platforms focused on photonics and neuronal dynamics.

  • Work across all product development stages—from problem analysis to deployment.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align computational work with research objectives.

Required Candidate Strengths:

  • Education: Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. in Physics, Computer Science, IT, or related disciplines.

  • Programming Skills: Proficiency in C++, Python, MATLAB; experience with production-level C++ code.

  • Technical Expertise: Solid background in computational physics, numerical solvers, and electrodynamic simulations.

  • AI/ML: Understanding of GPU-based computation, AI optimization, and matrix operations.

  • Software Development: Experience in cross-platform scientific software, UI development, and performance tuning.

  • Problem Solving: Strong skills in algorithm design, numerical methods, and HPC techniques.

  • Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken) with strong collaborative skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with HPC systems, Linux, and job schedulers like Slurm.

  • Familiarity with the MOOSE simulation environment.

  • Prior work in machine learning or AI for scientific computing.

  • Knowledge of modeling RF/microwave-driven plasma systems.

  • Experience supervising researchers, mentoring staff, and writing grant proposals.

  • A strong academic publication record, including first-author papers.
