Senior Compliance Officer – Investment Operations

Job Overview:
A leading investment firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking a highly skilled Senior Compliance Officer – Investment Operations to oversee compliance functions related to its diverse portfolio. This pivotal role ensures that all investment activities are conducted in strict alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies, while supporting operational excellence across the organization.

As a key member of the compliance team, you will collaborate with investment, legal, risk, and operations teams to manage regulatory risks, support reporting, and embed a culture of integrity and compliance within the firm.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor adherence to all relevant local and international laws, regulations, and internal compliance policies governing investment operations.

  • Conduct compliance risk assessments and advise investment teams on the regulatory implications of proposed transactions.

  • Review and validate investment documentation and transactions for legal and regulatory conformity.

  • Stay current with evolving regulatory developments that impact the investment landscape.

  • Prepare and submit accurate regulatory filings and reports in a timely manner.

  • Work cross-functionally with legal, operations, risk, and investment teams to support cohesive compliance management.

  • Deliver training and internal guidance to promote awareness and best practices across departments.

  • Assist with internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to audit queries.

  • Maintain detailed records of compliance activities and support the continuous development of compliance frameworks and policies.

  • Identify and escalate compliance breaches and work toward prompt resolution.

Candidate Requirements:

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., ICA, ACAMS) are preferred.

  • 7–10 years of compliance experience in investment management, asset management, or financial services.

  • Strong understanding of both regional (UAE) and international investment regulatory frameworks.

  • Proven experience in compliance monitoring, regulatory reporting, and risk management within the investment domain.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical abilities.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English (Arabic is a plus).

  • Ability to work proactively and collaboratively across departments.

  • High degree of integrity and a commitment to fostering a compliance-driven culture.
