The Department of Finance – Abu Dhabi is seeking a Senior Accountant – Policies & Governance to join their team in a full-time, on-site capacity. This role is pivotal in ensuring robust accounting governance and policy development within the Emirate’s financial ecosystem. The selected candidate will contribute significantly to the implementation and oversight of financial frameworks aligned with international standards and evolving regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies aligned with international standards and local regulations

• Monitor changes in financial reporting and accounting regulations to ensure timely updates and compliance

• Assist in creating governance frameworks that promote transparency and accountability in financial reporting

• Support internal departments by providing guidance on accounting best practices and policy interpretations

• Contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting controls and risk management strategies

• Collaborate with auditors and regulators to ensure adherence to statutory requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting or a related discipline

• Minimum of 4 years of experience in accounting, policy, or governance roles

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local regulatory compliance frameworks

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills

• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities

• Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are a plus
