The American University of Sharjah (AUS) is seeking a dedicated Campus Security Officer to join its Office of Protocol and Security. This pivotal on-site role ensures a safe, secure, and respectful campus environment, reinforcing AUS’s commitment to academic excellence and community well-being. The officer will be responsible for developing and enforcing security protocols, conducting incident investigations, leading emergency responses, and proactively assessing potential risks.
Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Security Management: Implement and oversee campus security plans in alignment with AUS’s strategic goals, collaborating with external contractors.

Incident Investigation & Prevention: Lead the documentation and analysis of incidents; develop measures to prevent recurrence.

Risk Assessment: Continuously evaluate potential security vulnerabilities and implement corrective measures.

Orientation & Training: Educate new students and staff on security protocols to ensure awareness and compliance.

Operational Oversight: Enforce procedures for monitoring campus access, managing staff, students, visitors, and contractors.

Emergency Response Leadership: Serve as the primary contact for emergencies, providing swift and coordinated responses.

Record Management: Maintain accurate logs of incidents, visitors, audits, and other key security data.

Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with internal and external parties to resolve issues and ensure seamless operations.

Cultural Sensitivity: Uphold AUS’s inclusive values by integrating cultural respect into security practices.

Continuous Improvement: Participate in campus events and initiatives to refine and enhance security policies.
Required Qualifications and Skills:

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in security, preferably in academic or institutional environments.

Strong strategic thinking and situational awareness.

Excellent physical fitness and emergency responsiveness.

Proficient in risk assessment and problem-solving.

Effective communicator with strong written and verbal skills.

Familiarity with local laws and campus security regulations.

Skilled in using security systems and digital reporting tools.

Calm, professional demeanor in high-pressure situations.

Strong interpersonal and customer service orientation.

Eagerness to learn and grow with evolving campus needs.
Preferred Qualifications:

Higher diploma or certification in security management or related field.
