About the Role

We are seeking a caring, confident, and highly organised School Nurse to join our school clinic team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated healthcare professional who is passionate about supporting children’s wellbeing and contributing to a safe, nurturing educational environment.

As the School Nurse, you will manage the daily operations of the clinic, provide high-quality medical care and first aid, maintain accurate health records, and promote a healthy school community.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Care & First Aid

• Provide first aid, emergency care, and ongoing medical support to students and staff

• Assess and respond promptly to illness or injury during the school day

• Administer prescribed medications in line with school policy and parental consent

Health Monitoring & Care Planning

• Monitor students with chronic health conditions

• Develop and implement individual healthcare plans where required

• Maintain accurate, confidential student health records

Clinic Management & Compliance

• Ensure the clinic is organised, stocked, and compliant with health and safety standards

• Uphold safeguarding and confidentiality requirements

• Liaise with school leadership on health and safety matters

Parent & Community Communication

• Communicate effectively with parents regarding student health concerns

• Support health awareness initiatives and school wellbeing programmes

Requirements

• Registered Nurse with a valid DHA licence or eligibility

• Experience in a school or paediatric setting (preferred)

• Strong clinical judgement and calm response in emergencies

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Compassionate, patient, and child-centred approach

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional standards
