Role Description:
This is an on-site role for a School Counsellor at The Aquila School. The counsellor will be responsible for:

• Providing emotional and social support to students through individual and group counselling
• Helping children manage their feelings and navigate personal challenges
• Monitoring and managing pupil attendance and punctuality
• Supporting staff in managing student behavior and incidents
• Organizing and overseeing playground activities, buddy systems, and student engagement programs
• Providing formal counselling with parental consent
• Collaborating with families through workshops and support groups
• Working with the inclusion team, medical staff, and safeguarding personnel to ensure the best pastoral care
• Analyzing school assessments to improve student well-being strategies
• Delivering training for staff on counselling and mental health support

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in school counselling with children aged 3 and above
• Integrity, professionalism, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to respond effectively to the needs of a diverse community
• Knowledge of various counselling models, practices, and resources
• Excellent communication and emotional intelligence
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Counselling, or a related field

Work Schedule:

• Monday to Thursday: 7:15 AM – 4:00 PM
• Friday: 7:15 AM – 12:00 PM
• Occasional evening and weekend work
