Community Options, Inc. is seeking a compassionate and qualified School Counsellor to join our team. The wellbeing advisor will play a crucial role in ensuring students are safe, happy, and able to focus on learning. The ideal candidate will support students, staff, and families in fostering a positive school environment and enhancing academic success.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional and social support to students aged 3 and above.
- Offer group and individual counselling sessions, including informal support and formal counselling with parental consent.
- Monitor and manage student attendance and punctuality.
- Assist in playground games, peer buddy programs, and student engagement systems.
- Support staff in managing student behavior and incidents.
- Work closely with families and conduct workshops or support groups.
- Analyze school assessments and provide insights for student well-being.
- Collaborate with the inclusion team, medical staff, and safeguarding professionals to ensure holistic student support.
- Deliver training to staff on best practices in student well-being.
- Uphold safeguarding policies and meet local regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to the effective day-to-day functioning of the school.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in school counselling for young students.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and emotional intelligence.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Expertise in various counselling models and techniques.
- Ability to respond effectively to diverse student needs.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
Employment Details:
- Hours: Monday to Thursday, 7:15 AM – 4:00 PM Friday, 7:15 AM – 12:00 PM
- Occasional evening and weekend work required.
- Holidays: As per the school’s KHDA-approved calendar.
