Sales Account Manager

BASF is looking for a Sales Account Manager to grow sales in existing Oilfield chemical accounts and seek new opportunities in the Middle East and Africa region. The role involves managing complex client relationships, developing sales strategies, and negotiating contracts. Ideal for someone with experience in oilfield chemicals, especially in the oilfield cementing segment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive sales growth of existing oilfield chemical accounts and hunt for new clients to support BASF’s strategy in the region.

  • Achieve sales targets for revenue, profitability, costs, and account receivables.

  • Develop and execute account strategies aligned with sales growth targets.

  • Negotiate customer contracts and implement pricing strategies at the customer level.

  • Provide market intelligence on competitor activities, customer needs, and new opportunities.

  • Communicate effectively with sales tools (Salesforce, CPQ, Outlook) and maintain proper documentation (reports, emails, strategies).

  • Coordinate field trials for oilfield chemicals and manage communication between product development and business teams.

  • Support regional and global business strategies and drive innovation.

  • Evaluate and manage channels to market that align with business needs.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering or a related Science Discipline.

  • 5+ years of chemical sales experience, with at least 3 years in oilfield chemicals (preferably in cementing applications).

  • Strong relationship-building skills, capable of engaging at all levels of the customer’s organization.

  • Excellent selling skills with a track record of identifying leads, closing sales, and delivering presentations.

  • Proven success as a self-starter with strong interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills.

  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to plan and execute strategies effectively.

  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus).
