Job Title: Safety Officer
Job Description:
The Safety Officer will be responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to prevent accidents and injuries on construction sites. This role requires a proactive individual with a strong understanding of UAE safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
Key Responsibilities:
Safety Program Implementation & Management:
- Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive safety management system in compliance with UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality regulations, and OSHAD requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance.
- Enforce safety procedures related to working at heights, confined spaces, excavation, heavy equipment operation, and electrical safety.
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, incidents, and training.
Training & Awareness:
- Conduct safety inductions and training sessions for employees and subcontractors.
- Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks and safety meetings.
- Ensure all personnel are aware of and adhere to safety protocols.
- Provide guidance and support to site supervisors and foremen.
Incident Investigation & Reporting:
- Investigate accidents and incidents, determine root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Prepare detailed incident reports and submit them to relevant authorities and management.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and near misses.
Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and standards.
- Keep up to date with changes in safety regulations and best practices.
- Prepare and submit required safety reports and documentation.
- Maintain safety-related documentation, including method statements, risk assessments, and permits to work.
Emergency Response:
- Develop and implement emergency response plans.
- Conduct regular emergency drills and exercises.
- Ensure first aid and emergency equipment are available and maintained.
Liaison & Communication:
- Act as a point of contact for all safety-related matters.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, clients, and subcontractors on safety issues.

Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the construction industry in the UAE.
- Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality regulations, and OSHAD requirements.
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
