GenBio AI, a Silicon Valley-based startup with a branch in Abu Dhabi, is pioneering the use of generative AI in biology and medicine. The company focuses on developing Large Biological Models (LBM) and cutting-edge AI-driven solutions for life sciences. The Research Engineer Intern will collaborate with AI researchers and computational biologists to advance GenBio AI’s foundation models, conduct experiments, analyze data, and contribute to the development of next-generation biomedical AI technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct research in AI, foundation models, and computational biology to improve existing models and explore new methodologies.

• Design and execute large-scale experiments, analyze complex datasets, and validate AI system performance.

• Collaborate with AI/ML researchers and computational biologists to develop state-of-the-art biology foundation models.

• Contribute to GenBio AI’s research agenda to drive scientific impact in biology and medicine.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Currently enrolled in a full-time Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or a related technical field.

• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.

• Experience with deep learning frameworks like PyTorch, Hugging Face, JAX, Megatron-LM, and DeepSpeed.

• Understanding of GPU/CPU architectures and AI accelerators.

• Familiarity with LLM or other foundation model architectures and large-scale training infrastructure.

• Experience optimizing ML performance, including low-precision formats and CUDA/kernel programming.

• Minimum 1 year of relevant industry or research experience.

Nice to Have:

• Current PhD specialization in Computer Architecture, Parallel Computing, Compilers, or related systems.

• Experience co-optimizing computing infrastructure with deep learning frameworks.

• Knowledge of performance profiling, distributed training integration, and GPU-accelerated libraries (CUDA, cuDNN).
