GenBio AI, a cutting-edge start-up headquartered in Silicon Valley with branches in Abu Dhabi and Paris, is hiring a Research Engineer Intern for a full-time hybrid internship role. The company is revolutionizing biomedicine through generative AI, specializing in Large Biological Models (LBM) that are reshaping healthcare and life sciences.

In this role, you’ll contribute to advanced research in foundation models, deep learning, and computational biology. You’ll join a world-class team of AI and biology innovators, conducting large-scale experiments, building model infrastructure, and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in bio-AI systems.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate on AI, LBM, and computational biology research projects.

• Improve and test performance of existing AI/ML models in biological contexts.

• Design and conduct large-scale experiments using real-world datasets.

• Analyze complex biological and AI datasets with statistical rigor.

• Support development of GenBio AI’s foundation models in biology.

• Work closely with interdisciplinary teams across AI and biotech fields.

Requirements:

• Enrolled in a full-time Master’s or PhD program in Computer Science, AI, ML, or related field (preferably in the U.S.).

• Strong coding skills in C/C++ and Python.

• Hands-on experience with frameworks like PyTorch, JAX, Hugging Face, DeepSpeed, Megatron-LM, etc.

• Understanding of LLM/foundation model architecture (attention mechanisms, MoE, etc.).

• Familiarity with AI accelerators (GPU/CPU), and low-precision training optimization.

• 1+ years of industry experience in AI/ML research or engineering.

• Experience writing CUDA or other GPU-accelerated compute kernels.

Nice to Have:

• Current PhD in CS/Engineering with focus on Compilers, Parallel Computing, or Computer Architecture.

• Experience with distributed training, system profiling, and infrastructure co-optimization.

• Proficient in CUDA/cuDNN and other GPU performance tools.

• Background in integrating scalable ML infrastructure with deep learning frameworks.
