The Research Analyst (Economics) at UNDP will focus on economic research to support the revision of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) and contribute to discussions on economic and human capital development. Responsibilities include conducting econometric analyses, managing economic data, contributing to knowledge product development, and providing expert policy advice on economic strategies. The role also involves event coordination, workshops, and collaboration with various stakeholders to advance the project’s goals.
Key Responsibilities:

Research & Analysis: Conduct quantitative and econometric analyses on economic factors, including regression analysis and forecasting. Contribute to policy briefs, think-pieces, and research on economic trends.

Data Collection & Management: Lead data collection and verification. Develop methodologies for data analysis and ensure data integrity.

Knowledge Product Development: Produce reports, policy briefs, and data visualizations. Assist in the development of the Global Knowledge Index (GKI) and other indices.

Policy Advice & Support: Provide expert advice on economic policies, contribute to strategic initiatives, and support the revision process of the GKI.

Event Coordination: Organize and facilitate workshops, seminars, and conferences on economic themes. Develop content and manage logistics for these events.
Qualifications:

Education: Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Economics, Econometrics, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field. A Bachelor’s degree with additional years of experience will be considered.

Experience: At least 2 years of relevant experience with a Master’s degree, or 4 years with a Bachelor’s degree, in economic research, data analysis, and policy development.

Skills: Strong proficiency in data collection, statistical software, and research. Knowledge of econometric modelling is preferred.

Languages: Fluency in both Arabic and English is required. French is an asset.
