Role Overview

We are seeking a Public Policy Programs Lead to join our EMEA Public Policy team in Dubai. This role will be responsible for supporting the development and execution of Snap Inc.’s public policy and government relations strategy in the Middle East and Africa. You will monitor legislative and regulatory developments in tech policy and collaborate with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure Snap’s successful navigation of regional and global environments.

What You’ll Do

• Strategic Planning: Work closely with the Head of Public Policy for the Middle East and Africa to coordinate and deliver market strategies across the region.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with teams across Snap, including Communications, Legal, Content, and Marketing, to align policy positions with business objectives.

• Policy Monitoring: Analyze and monitor legislative and regulatory developments in the MENA region to assess their impact on Snap.

• Stakeholder Engagement: Develop and execute initiatives and partnerships to enhance Snap’s relationships with government bodies, NGOs, and other stakeholders.

• Support & Advocacy: Provide support for incoming queries, preparing briefing materials and positioning documents to ensure effective policy engagement.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Proven ability to work with government officials, NGOs, coalitions, and stakeholders.

• In-depth knowledge of tech policy issues and the legislative/regulatory ecosystem in the MENA region.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong judgment and decision-making capabilities.

• Ability to lead complex projects and work with diverse groups of people.

• A passion for Snapchat, digital content, and creativity.

• Ability to rapidly understand complex policy issues in a fast-paced environment.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Degree or advanced studies in Law, Economics, Political Science, International Relations, or Public Affairs.

• Experience: Relevant experience in MENA public policy, public affairs, or consulting, with substantial work with regulators and public institutions.

• Language Proficiency: Full proficiency in both English and Arabic.

• Regional Expertise: Extensive experience within the UAE and KSA markets.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Background in tech policy or working with content platforms is highly preferred.
