Role Overview

We are hiring a technically strong and execution-driven Project Engineer (Civil or Mechanical) to lead the development of a new manufacturing plant and corporate office facility in Jebel Ali.

This is a greenfield industrial project, requiring hands-on involvement from initial site development through construction, machinery installation, commissioning, and operational readiness. The ideal candidate will have solid experience in industrial construction, contractor supervision, and heavy equipment coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Greenfield Project Execution & Site Supervision

• Oversee full construction lifecycle of manufacturing plant and office building.

• Supervise civil works including foundations, structural works, industrial flooring, utilities, and infrastructure.

• Coordinate mechanical works including piping, structural supports, equipment foundations, and installation readiness.

• Monitor daily site progress to ensure:

  • Adherence to timelines

  • Compliance with approved drawings

  • Quality standards

  • HSE regulations

• Liaise with consultants, contractors, subcontractors, and regulatory authorities.

• Conduct inspections, prepare progress reports, and track project milestones.

• Support testing, commissioning, and final handover of the facility.

2. Heavy Machinery Procurement & Plant Establishment

• Lead procurement of heavy industrial machinery for manufacturing operations.

• Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, RFQs, and vendor evaluation criteria.

• Review vendor technical submissions and ensure compliance with operational requirements.

• Negotiate pricing, warranties, delivery timelines, and service agreements.

• Coordinate logistics, customs clearance, and delivery schedules.

• Supervise installation, alignment, commissioning, and operational testing.

• Develop relationships with OEMs, suppliers, and industrial service providers.

3. Engineering & Technical Coordination

• Interpret and review civil, structural, and mechanical drawings.

• Review equipment data sheets and utility layouts.

• Provide technical input during plant layout optimization and design reviews.

• Ensure integration of utilities (power, water, HVAC, compressed air) with plant machinery.

• Identify technical risks and implement mitigation strategies.

• Support scheduling, cost control, and project planning initiatives.

4. Documentation, Compliance & Reporting

• Maintain procurement logs, inspection reports, and technical documentation.

• Ensure compliance with UAE engineering standards and local authority regulations.

• Track warranties, certifications, and service documentation.

• Prepare periodic progress reports for senior management.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Civil Engineering (mandatory).

• 3–8 years of experience in:

  • Industrial construction projects (required)

  • Manufacturing plant setup (preferred)

  • Heavy equipment procurement and installation (preferred)

• Strong site supervision and contractor management experience.

• Familiarity with chemical or process plant environments is an advantage.

• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.

• Experience coordinating with consultants, contractors, and authorities.
