Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced PMO Manager to design, implement, and lead a structured Programme Management Office for a growing Start-Up Academy portfolio. This strategic role will drive governance, financial oversight, risk management, and delivery assurance across multiple education initiatives, ensuring programmes align with approved business cases, budgets, and regulatory standards.

Acting as a senior advisor to leadership, the PMO Manager will establish scalable frameworks, enhance operational discipline, and ensure consistent, high-quality programme execution—without direct line management responsibilities.


Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive PMO framework to support multiple academy programmes.

  • Develop governance models, reporting structures, and performance tracking mechanisms.

  • Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within budget, and aligned with strategic objectives.

  • Monitor programme financials, ensuring strong commercial discipline and value realization.

  • Identify, assess, and mitigate portfolio-level risks while maintaining compliance standards.

  • Provide executive-level reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior leadership.

  • Standardize processes, tools, and methodologies across projects to improve efficiency and transparency.

  • Support business transformation and growth through structured programme delivery models.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across academic, operational, and regulatory environments.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Education, or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).

  • 10+ years of experience in programme management, portfolio governance, or PMO leadership roles.

  • Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, MSP, or equivalent are highly desirable.

  • Proven experience building PMO structures in start-up, transformation, or high-growth environments.

  • Strong financial oversight, governance, and risk management expertise.

  • Experience managing complex, multi-project portfolios with executive reporting exposure.

  • Background in education, training, or regulated sectors is advantageous.
