Synthomer, a global leader in sustainable polymer solutions and a FTSE 250 listed company, is seeking a Procurement Specialist for its Dubai operations. This on-site, full-time position focuses on the strategic sourcing and procurement of raw materials and indirect goods/services for manufacturing sites across the Middle East region. The ideal candidate will support cost optimization, supplier performance, sustainability goals, and stakeholder collaboration in line with Synthomer’s global standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement category strategies to drive value, reduce costs, and manage procurement risk

• Support sourcing initiatives for raw materials and indirect products/services aligned with site-specific and global needs

• Manage contracting, spot purchases, and ensure compliance with finance and procurement policies

• Monitor market developments and pricing trends to support informed procurement decisions

• Work cross-functionally with global procurement and direct/indirect teams to ensure best outcomes

• Manage and maintain supplier relationships in accordance with ethical and corporate strategies

• Support sustainability targets, including carbon footprint reduction through strategic sourcing projects

• Collaborate with site teams, operations, finance, QSHE, and AP departments

• Support procurement tools, KPIs, reporting, and integrated business planning processes

• Provide backup coverage and be a collaborative member of the global Procurement team

• Adhere strictly to Synthomer’s SHE policies and Code of Conduct

Requirements & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in a business-related discipline

• 3–5 years of procurement experience, preferably in chemical/petrochemical raw materials

• Strong background in category management, logistics procurement, and raw material sourcing

• Skilled in project management, analytics, and presenting complex data to stakeholders

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with a structured, detail-oriented approach

• Experience with MS Office, SAP S/4HANA, Ariba, SpendScape

• Fluent in English; Arabic language skills are a plus

• Willingness to travel 25–50% across the Middle East, Europe, and Asia
