Planning Engineer

Roles & Responsibilities:

We are seeking a skilled Planning Engineer with 6–10 years of experience in civil engineering and project planning to join our team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting the Project Planning Manager in developing, managing, and monitoring construction schedules and project timelines to ensure timely and efficient project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of tender programs in alignment with tender document requirements.

  • Collaborate with the Project Planning Manager to develop detailed project schedules and work programs.

  • Calculate manpower requirements based on defined productivity benchmarks.

  • Assist in creating weight systems, loading manpower, cost, and quantities over activities within the project timeline.

  • Estimate and update project cash flows and monitor financial forecasting.

  • Prepare key performance indicators (KPIs) including S-curves, tabular reports, and histograms.

  • Ensure integration of QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety & Environment) standards into all schedules and programs.

  • Coordinate internal and subcontractor programs in collaboration with procurement and site engineers.

  • Generate weekly and monthly progress reports and highlight critical paths or areas of concern to management.

  • Forecast potential project risks and provide recommendations to mitigate issues proactively.

  • Monitor actual manpower and equipment usage against project requirements.

  • Attend meetings and audits, and support preparation of project documentation including Extension of Time (EoT) notices and claims.

  • Ensure timely and professional communication with all stakeholders including clients, consultants, and subcontractors.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.

  • 6 to 10 years of experience in planning within the construction or civil infrastructure industry.

  • Proficiency in project management and planning software (Primavera P6, MS Project, etc.).

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills.

  • Excellent communication and coordination abilities.

  • Knowledge of project control systems and standards.
