GEMS Education is seeking a committed and enthusiastic PE Teaching Assistant for GEMS International School – Al Khail in Dubai. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity designed for individuals passionate about education, physical activity, and student development. GEMS International School offers the International Baccalaureate (IB) programme and hosts a diverse and multicultural learning environment.

As a PE Teaching Assistant, you will support teachers in delivering engaging physical education and swimming lessons while ensuring student safety and active participation. The role involves working closely with the teaching team to assist with instructional and operational tasks across physical education activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support PE staff in delivering structured physical education and swimming lessons.

• Supervise students during pool activities – ability to swim is mandatory.

• Assist with reading and literacy activities related to physical education when required.

• Lead and support small group activities in or outside the classroom.

• Assist in preparing classroom materials, displays, and general lesson planning.

• Cover classes for short periods in emergency situations.

• Maintain stock and ensure equipment is organized and in good condition.

• Attend to children’s basic needs including toileting and changing if necessary.

• Demonstrate knowledge of relevant curriculum aspects including numeracy, literacy, and phonics.

• Uphold all GEMS policies, procedures, and ethical standards.

• Contribute to school committees and attend staff meetings.

• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
