Alvarez & Marsal, a leading global professional services firm, is seeking a Payroll Specialist to support the payroll process across the Middle East, particularly in the UAE and Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will be responsible for processing accurate payroll, liaising with internal HR partners, and ensuring compliance with payroll legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare payroll data for submission to third-party providers, including data for new hires, leavers, salary increases, bonuses, and transfers.

• Process employee-related information and input into flexi-forms and the payroll provider’s portal.

• Ensure accurate processing of bonuses, one-time payments, and deferred payments.

• Collaborate with HR and other business partners to meet payroll deadlines and maintain KPIs.

• Review payroll output to ensure accuracy before WPS payment file release.

• Track time-off (e.g., vacation days) and ensure adjustments are made for any overused time-off.

• Reconcile and report on social security deductions (DEWS, GPSSA, GOSI).

• Ensure compliance with payroll regulations and legislative changes in the UAE and KSA.

• Serve as the first point of contact for tax authorities regarding income tax and social security queries.

• Assist in payroll projects and process improvement initiatives.

Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field.

• 7+ years of experience processing payroll, especially in Middle Eastern countries (UAE & KSA).

• In-depth knowledge of UAE and KSA payroll systems and legislation.

• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

• Proficient in Excel and experience with Workday HCM is a plus.

• Ability to work independently and within a remote team.

• Organized, adaptable, and able to meet tight deadlines.

• Experience with outsourced managed payroll environments is desirable.

• Ability to handle customer service inquiries and solve problems effectively.
