As a Mortgage Specialist at Emirates NBD, you will be responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and underwriting mortgage applications for self-employed, salaried, and company customers. Your role will ensure that all loans are processed in accordance with Emirates NBD’s policies and the UAE Central Bank guidelines, ensuring prudent lending practices and safeguarding the bank’s interests.

Job Responsibilities:

• Review, analyze, and underwrite loans for self-employed, salaried, and company customers.

• Understand audited financial statements, including Balance Sheets, Profit and Loss Statements, and Cash Flow Statements.

• Prepare financial spreads and calculate key ratios such as DSCR, Debt to Equity, Current Ratio, Liquid Ratio, Debtor Days, and Creditor Days.

• Ensure all customer documentation is accurate, complete, and consistent with company and Central Bank guidelines.

• Implement fraud detection techniques and perform compliance reviews.

• Assist with loan renegotiations based on lending guidelines.

• Liaise with sales teams for clarifications regarding applications.

• Maintain management information systems (MIS) such as Deviation MIS and Scorecard MIS.

• Act as a referral point for escalations, credit reviews, and business team inputs.

• Perform business verification at company premises as required.

• Collaborate with the team captain to achieve team and unit goals.

Required Qualifications:

• Experience in the UAE mortgage industry, including mortgage credit and SME lending.

• Knowledge of mortgage and lending processes, underwriting criteria, and risk assessment.

• Ability to assess credit reports, income, and debt-to-income ratios.

• Strong understanding of mortgage laws and regulations.

• Arabic speaker is preferred.
