GMG is seeking an experienced Merchandiser to join their Sports Division. This role involves executing merchandising strategies, managing product assortments, optimizing inventory levels, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive performance and enhance the customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and execute merchandising strategies aligned with market trends and consumer behavior

Manage product assortments to meet seasonal trends and sales targets

Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts or overstocking and work with supply chain teams for replenishment
-
Analyze inventory health and provide insights for Open-to-Buy decisions
-
Track sales and merchandising performance, identifying opportunities for improvement
-
Collaborate with cross-functional teams (planning, supply chain, finance, and retail operations)

Conduct competitive analysis and market research to stay updated on industry trends
-
Suggest product adjustments based on consumer preferences
-
Optimize processes for merchandising planning and execution
Candidate Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Retail Management, or a related field (Postgraduate qualification is a plus)

5+ years of merchandising experience, preferably in sports retail or apparel
-
Proven experience in inventory management and assortment planning
-
Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and reporting
-
Experience with retail planning and inventory management systems
-
Strong analytical mindset and ability to work with data-driven insights
-
Familiarity with business intelligence tools is an advantage

Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
