Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Mechanic – Diesel Engines & Dewatering Pumps to support construction and infrastructure projects in Dubai. The role focuses on the maintenance, troubleshooting, and emergency repair of diesel engine–driven dewatering and stormwater pumping systems, ensuring uninterrupted site operations—especially during critical rain and flood conditions.

This position requires strong hands-on expertise, site readiness, and the ability to respond effectively in emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities

Diesel Engine & Equipment Maintenance

• Perform preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance of diesel engine–driven dewatering pumps and generators

• Carry out routine servicing including oil changes, filter replacement, belt inspection, and cooling system maintenance

• Diagnose and repair engine-related issues such as starting failures, overheating, abnormal noise, vibration, and exhaust smoke

Pump Systems & Dewatering Operations

• Maintain and service dewatering and stormwater pump systems, including impellers, seals, bearings, pipelines, and discharge lines

• Ensure correct pump priming, alignment, flow rate, and discharge pressure

• Support continuous dewatering operations on active construction sites

Emergency Response & Site Support

• Attend equipment breakdowns and emergency call-outs, particularly during heavy rain or flooding events

• Work collaboratively with electricians to ensure proper functioning of control panels, alarms, safety interlocks, and electrical protections

• Operate effectively in outdoor, site-based environments under varying weather conditions

Reporting & Coordination

• Inspect and report equipment condition to supervisors

• Identify and communicate spare parts requirements and maintenance needs

• Maintain basic service records and maintenance logs as required

Candidate Requirements

Qualifications & Experience

• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical, Automobile, or Diesel Engine Technology

• Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in diesel engine maintenance

• Mandatory experience with dewatering, stormwater, or construction pump systems

• Valid UAE Driving License – Manual (Compulsory)

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of diesel engines and pump systems

• Ability to independently troubleshoot mechanical faults

• Comfortable working in site-based and outdoor environments

• Willingness to work shifts, nights, and emergency duties as required

• Reliable, safety-conscious, and able to perform under pressure
