Materials Engineer (Interiors) – High Profile Projects | Full-Time | Dubai

Job Description:
J10 Consulting is working with a renowned Tier 1 Main Contracting client to find an experienced Materials Engineer (Interiors) to join their team in Dubai. This role offers the opportunity to work on prestigious new build projects, focusing on interiors for high-profile developments.

This is a contract position for 3-6 months with the option to transfer to a permanent role at the end of the contract period. Successful candidates will have significant experience in material engineering for large-scale projects in the UAE, with a preference for those who have worked with leading contracting companies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and approve material submittals according to project specifications and applicable standards.

• Oversee scheduling and management of construction materials and equipment on-site.

• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with contract specifications and project standards.

• Coordinate material testing with subcontractors and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

• Maintain project files, prepare daily reports, and document materials inspections.

• Verify that only approved materials are incorporated in construction work.

• Identify potential issues with construction materials and propose solutions to supervisors.

• Collect and review compliance documentation (Certificates of Compliance, MSDS, inspection tags).

• Offer technical guidance to junior team members and contribute to safety and quality control initiatives.

• Perform engineering calculations and prepare graphs, charts, and reports.

• Ensure proper storage and handling of materials on-site, confirming all deliveries match approved specifications.

Candidate Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in materials engineering, preferably with Main Contractor companies.

• Experience with new build and interior fit-out projects (mall, high-rise, and hotel experience is highly advantageous).

• Ability to read, interpret, and understand plans and specifications.

• Strong communication skills in English (both verbal and written).

• Ability to follow oral and written instructions and prepare technical reports, charts, and graphs.
