Job Summary:

KOTUG Middle East is hiring a Marine Automation Engineer to support the maintenance and reliability of electrical and automation systems across its fleet. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong technical knowledge of marine automation and electrical systems, able to work closely with vessel superintendents and onboard engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain and repair all electrical and automation systems onboard as per the direction of the Vessel Superintendent.

• Ensure preventive maintenance is conducted to high standards in line with manufacturers’ specifications.

• Monitor and maintain key systems including:

  • Main switchboards

  • Generators

  • Machinery automation and control systems

  • Electrical propulsion systems

  • Maneuvering control systems

• Provide technical guidance to onboard ETOs and support in managing PMS (Planned Maintenance System) tasks.

• Assist in inventory checks and ensure availability of critical electrical and electronic spares.

• Report any electrical concerns or potential failures to the Chief Engineer.

• Follow safety protocols and ensure all repair work is conducted under safe conditions.

• Support the implementation of Safety and Environmental Protection policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering.

• Minimum of 3 years’ experience as an Automation Engineer in the marine industry.

• Hands-on experience with marine automation systems and electrical troubleshooting.

• Proficient in repair and maintenance of electronic equipment and onboard systems.

Core Competencies:

• Initiative and independence in diagnosing and solving technical issues.

• Strong knowledge of safety procedures and marine safety protocols.

• Familiarity with the Safety Management System (SMS) and Emergency Plans.

• Ability to work collaboratively with engineering and operations teams.

• High level of attention to detail and proactive communication skills.
