Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Maintenance Engineer to support operations at a high-capacity metal smelting and recycling plant in Dubai. The ideal candidate will bring solid electrical and/or mechanical maintenance expertise, particularly with furnaces, kettles, motors, and heavy industrial equipment. You will play a key role in ensuring maximum plant reliability, safety, and uptime through proactive maintenance practices and technical leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment, including furnaces, kettles, motors, drives, pumps, and rotating/static machinery.

  • Implement and manage maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and improve reliability.

  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with safety, quality, and environmental regulations.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, equipment history, and spare parts records.

  • Conduct root cause analysis for equipment breakdowns and recommend corrective actions.

  • Coordinate maintenance activities with production and operations teams to avoid disruptions.

  • Supervise technicians and contractors when required, ensuring work quality and safety.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, efficiency, and plant performance.

  • Track maintenance KPIs and submit periodic performance reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline.

  • Minimum 5 years’ maintenance experience in metal smelting, refining, or heavy industrial plants.

  • Mandatory experience working with tin or lead processing equipment.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, industrial furnaces, kettles, hydraulics, and pneumatics.

  • Proven experience in machinery troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance programs.

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.

  • Excellent communication and ability to work in fast-paced plant environments.
