Aldar Education is seeking a qualified Librarian to join Yasmina American School in Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi for the 2025–2026 academic year. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to a dynamic school community by managing library operations, encouraging independent learning, and promoting a lifelong love for reading.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging library information literacy sessions to promote independent research skills.

Manage selection, ordering, and cataloging of resources using the Destiny Follett system (Dewey Decimal classification).

Liaise with teachers to supply curriculum-supportive materials.

Maintain accurate, updated student and teacher library records.

Oversee overdue/lost book procedures and book repair processes.

Curate a welcoming and inclusive library environment that supports both quiet reading and independent study.

Promote reading through themed displays, book clubs, and recommendations.

Organize author visits, book fairs, and school-wide book club orders.

Track borrowing/returning of materials, manage shelving, and maintain library inventory.

Support school-wide events and work closely with teaching and administrative staff.

Ensure compliance with school policies and health & safety procedures.
Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Library and Information Studies OR
-
Diploma in Library Studies / Information
Minimum Experience:
-
2–3 years of experience in a similar librarian role
Skills & Competencies:
-
Fluent in English (written and spoken); Arabic is a plus

Proficient in library software (especially Destiny Follett)

Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Ability to engage with a diverse student population

Office management experience and multitasking ability
