Aldar Education is seeking a passionate and dedicated Librarian for Al Mushrif Kindergarten Charter School in Abu Dhabi for the academic year 25/26. Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver ‘library information literacy’ sessions to empower students to effectively use library resources (books, magazines, online materials).

• Select, order, and manage new books and resources suited to grade levels, student interests, and curriculum requirements.

• Collaborate with teachers to provide topic-related resources to classrooms as needed.

• Catalog all library resources using the Destiny Follett system, applying the Dewey Decimal Classification. Label and cover books accordingly.

• Maintain the library database with accurate records of students and staff.

• Follow up on overdue books; handle payments for lost/damaged books and repair damaged materials.

• Create an inviting library environment for quiet reading and independent study.

• Promote reading through engaging displays and activities, keeping up-to-date with new book releases.

• Organize author visits and book fairs in collaboration with local bookstores.

• Manage the school’s ‘Book Club,’ including consolidating orders and distributing books.

• Oversee book check-in/out and shelving.

• Address enquiries and liaise with teaching and non-teaching staff.

• Comply with health, safety, and school policy requirements.

• Support policy development and undertake relevant training.

• Perform other reasonable duties aligned with the role.

Qualifications:

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Library Studies, Information Science, or related field.

• 1-2 years experience as a Librarian.

• Fluent in English (spoken and written); Arabic speaker preferred.

• Strong interpersonal skills to interact effectively in a multicultural environment.

• Excellent office and organizational management skills.
