The Legal Counsel at DMCC will support the Director of Legal and the Legal team, ensuring legal compliance with UAE laws and regulations. This role involves liaising with regulatory and legislative stakeholders, handling litigation, and managing commercial contracts across DMCC’s various verticals, including Commodities, Free Zone, and Corporate. The counsel will also oversee the implementation of legal and regulatory frameworks and support strategic initiatives and projects.
Key Responsibilities:

Legal Support: Support DMCC’s verticals (Commodities, Free Zone, Corporate) and assist with legal matters in the Property vertical from a strategic risk perspective.

Compliance & Legislation: Ensure compliance with UAE laws, regulations, and professional bodies. Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on DMCC.

Regulatory Relationships: Work closely with regulatory agencies, federal authorities (e.g., Ministry of Economy, Central Bank), and stakeholders to safeguard DMCC’s interests.

Contract Management: Oversee the preparation, review, and approval of commercial contracts, MoUs, NDAs, and services agreements.

Policy Implementation: Support the implementation and updates of DMCC Legal Policies and Procedures.

Strategic Initiatives: Assist in strategic initiatives and new business platforms, contributing to DMCC’s role as a Free Zone licensing authority and commodities innovator.
Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s law degree from a recognized university.

Experience: Minimum 4 years as a lawyer in a common law jurisdiction or with an international law firm in the Middle East. Experience at a government or quasi-government entity is a plus.

Certifications: Member of the bar or roll of solicitors in the UK, USA, or Australia is preferred.

Skills: Excellent English communication skills (written and spoken). Arabic is a plus. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and digital skills.
