Valmont Industries is seeking a Lean Specialist to drive operational excellence and implement Lean principles. This role is focused on achieving customer focus, simplicity, agility, and accountability while mentoring teams, managing Lean-related measures, and driving improvements across various processes. The Lean Specialist will lead initiatives, facilitate Lean events, and communicate improvement opportunities throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities:

Lean Strategy Development: Develop and execute a Lean strategy, facilitating Lean events and guiding teams in Lean methodologies.

Business Process Improvement: Lead teams in the improvement of business processes, change management, and metrics to drive operational success.

Coaching & Mentoring: Act as a coach and mentor for staff across the organization, including senior management, to adopt Lean practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Represent the Lean team across cross-divisional committees and liaise between teams and management.

Continuous Improvement: Use Lean methodologies to remove obstacles affecting performance and improve processes using PDCA (Plan-Do-Check-Act/Adjust).

Operational Excellence: Monitor safety, quality, delivery, and cost metrics, reporting on progress and improvement efforts.

Project Management: Manage projects related to operational improvements, including facilitating improvement activities at international plants.

Travel: Required to travel up to 15% (domestic and international).
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline.

Certifications: Professional Lean Certification; commitment to ongoing Lean learning.

Experience: Minimum of two years of experience driving Lean or continuous improvement transformation in manufacturing.

Skills:

Expert knowledge in Lean Manufacturing and program management.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and planning abilities.

Ability to facilitate and coach teams in Lean methodology.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, Access, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Strong organizational skills with the ability to meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education: Master’s degree in engineering, business, or a related Lean field.

Certifications: PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification.
-
Languages: Proficiency in an additional language is a plus.
