Cummins Inc. is hiring a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer for its Projects Design and Implementation Team under the Power Generation (PG) Sales Department in Dubai. This hybrid, full-time role is primarily focused on mechanical design (75%) with additional responsibilities in technical sales support (25%).

The successful candidate will play a key role in optimizing mechanical design concepts, developing technical sales offers, and collaborating across functions to deliver customer-centric project solutions. The engineer will also lead design reviews, mentor junior engineers, and drive process improvements across the department.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create optimized design concepts considering performance, reliability, cost, and manufacturability.

• Prepare technical offers and respond to RFQs and tenders with the electrical team.

• Communicate design capabilities and assess competitive alternatives.

• Lead negotiations and technical reviews with vendors, customers, and stakeholders.

• Ensure system validation using IQD and IQA processes.

• Improve work processes and support technical sales efforts.

• Coordinate project drawings and mentor junior engineers.

• Apply strong communication skills in dealing with clients and internal teams.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).

• Strong experience in mechanical design engineering with leadership exposure.

• Prior experience as Senior or Lead Engineer in a relevant discipline.

• Proficiency in MS Office and solid modeling tools.

• Excellent negotiation and communication skills (English – spoken and written).

• Experience with engineering BOMs, 3D modeling, and technical documentation.

• Ability to translate stakeholder needs into system requirements and manage scope changes.
