GE Vernova is actively seeking an experienced Lead DCS Engineer to join their dynamic engineering and field service team in the Gulf Cluster, supporting both UAE and Oman projects. This full-time remote position requires a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of Substation Automation Systems (SAS), DCS/CS field activities, and industrial communication protocols.

As a Lead DCS Engineer, you will manage the full lifecycle of field service operations, including engineering, design validation, commissioning, and customer interaction. This role is pivotal in ensuring the delivery of complex automation solutions with high quality and precision.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and manage signal lists, interlocking documents, and field documentation

• Lead and supervise all field service activities for Substation Automation Systems including DCS, SCS, RTUs, and Cyber Security

• Handle technical project execution from engineering to testing, commissioning, and system troubleshooting

• Lead LAN network design, configuration of PCs, routers, switches, and satellite clocks for substations

• Manage site installation of SCS systems (fiber layout, wiring, HMI installation, etc.)

• Execute testing of digital inputs, SCADA signals, complex SCS functionalities, and standard protocol communications (IEC61850, Modbus, DNP3, etc.)

• Create and maintain system backups, red-marked drawings, and As-Built documentation

• Communicate effectively with internal teams and customers to ensure project milestones are achieved

• Support project planning, budgeting, EHS compliance, and documentation control

• Demonstrate strong troubleshooting skills in control networks and protocols

Skills and Qualifications Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering

• Minimum 6 years of experience in Substation Automation or DCS/CS systems

• Strong knowledge of GE DS Agile, PACiS, GPG, G500, and D2xx RTUs

• Experience with IEC61850, T101/103/104, Modbus, DNP3 protocols

• Proficient in PC software, installation, troubleshooting, and Microsoft Office

• Working knowledge of cyber security implementation in substations

• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills

• Excellent communication in English (Arabic is a plus)

• No travel restrictions; able to work under tight deadlines across multiple sites

Preferred:

• Experience with GPG software, Zenon, AVIEW for HMI design

• Prior involvement with substation LAN network configuration and system commissioning

• Strong understanding of Gulf region electrical network standards and customer expectations
