Job Title: Kitchen Assistant
Job Description:
We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Kitchen Assistant to support food preparation and maintain a clean, organized kitchen environment. In this role, you’ll work alongside chefs and kitchen staff to prepare ingredients, clean kitchen areas and equipment, and ensure smooth day-to-day operations in line with hygiene and safety standards.
Your responsibilities will include assisting with chopping, assembling dishes, washing utensils, stocking supplies, disposing of waste correctly, and supporting chefs as needed during meal preparation. You’ll play a vital role in keeping the kitchen running efficiently and ensuring that all cleanliness and food safety guidelines are strictly followed.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist in food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, preparing salads, and plating dishes.

Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, equipment, and utensils in accordance with hygiene protocols.

Operate dishwashers or hand-wash dishes, pots, and pans.

Organize and replenish kitchen inventory including ingredients and cleaning supplies.

Properly dispose of waste and recyclables using designated separation procedures.

Support chefs by retrieving ingredients, garnishing dishes, and performing other related duties.

Follow food handling standards to prevent contamination and maintain food quality.

Maintain cleanliness in the kitchen, including mopping floors and emptying trash bins.

Comply with all health and safety guidelines, policies, and company procedures.

Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
Skills & Requirements:

Prior kitchen experience is a plus but not mandatory.

Ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Strong attention to detail and the ability to follow instructions precisely.

Good communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.

Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy items (up to 50 lbs).

Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Basic understanding of food safety and sanitation practices is advantageous.

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
