Role Overview:

As a Junior Data Scientist, you will support the data and analytics unit by applying advanced statistical methods, developing data pipelines, and providing key insights to the actuarial team and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build strong understanding of life & health insurance/reinsurance and relevant data management

• Automate data extraction, design data pipelines, and support data warehouse development

• Apply machine learning and statistical methods (supervised & unsupervised)

• Interpret model results in a business context with clear data visualizations

• Manage structured databases from multiple data sources and granularities

• Provide technical support in monthly reserving data preparation and consolidation

• Communicate data issues effectively to internal and external stakeholders

• Run data extraction and management workshops as needed

• Act as liaison between Munich Re UAE and data platform partners, especially for new platforms or data format changes

• Maintain and develop relational database knowledge (e.g., SQL) for effective data analysis

Candidate Profile:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Actuarial Science, or related field

• Master’s degree preferred but not mandatory

• 1-3 years of experience as a working student or data analyst, preferably in insurance, reinsurance, or actuarial contexts

• Strong IT and mathematical background
