Outlier, a global leader in AI training and development, is looking for talented Japanese writers to contribute to the training of generative artificial intelligence models. This remote, freelance contract offers flexible working hours and the opportunity to work on cutting-edge language projects. The role is ideal for professionals experienced in Japanese translation, writing, or content evaluation who are passionate about language quality and AI innovation.

Responsibilities:

• Content Evaluation: Read and evaluate Japanese text generated by AI and rank responses based on quality and relevance.

• Content Creation: Write short stories in Japanese based on provided prompts or themes.

• Accuracy Assessment: Verify factual accuracy and language appropriateness of AI-generated Japanese text.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Fluency in Japanese (native-level preferred)

• Strong command of grammar, vocabulary, and tone in Japanese writing

• Experience as a translator, writer, copywriter, editor, or content reviewer

• Degree or enrollment in a humanities, creative writing, or language-related field is a plus

• Excellent attention to detail and ability to provide constructive feedback

Payment:

• Average pay: USD $31.00 per hour (or approx. ¥4529 JPY/hour)

• Rates vary depending on expertise, location, project type, and evaluation results

• Onboarding and non-core tasks may be paid at a lower rate; incentive bonuses are available for certain projects
