Job Purpose

AJ Al Asmawi Group is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor to support the effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance across its diversified operations. Based in Dubai, this role provides management with independent assurance that company resources are safeguarded, information integrity is maintained, and operations comply with internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

The role also involves conducting investigations related to fraud, misconduct, and irregularities, while supporting continuous improvement of governance and compliance frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

Internal Audit & Assurance

• Plan and execute risk-based internal audits, operational reviews, and ad-hoc audit assignments as directed by senior management

• Conduct audits in accordance with International Auditing Standards and professional ethical requirements

• Identify, document, and communicate audit findings clearly, ensuring alignment and agreement with auditees

• Prepare concise and well-structured audit reports with practical, value-adding recommendations

• Follow up on audit observations to ensure timely and effective implementation of agreed corrective actions

• Maintain effective working relationships with auditee management and key internal stakeholders

Investigations & Fraud Risk

• Conduct investigations into allegations of fraud, corruption, misconduct, or breaches of the Code of Conduct

• Coordinate with Legal, HR, Finance, and other relevant departments to ensure thorough and compliant investigations

• Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls and identify root causes of deficiencies

• Assess and enhance the organization’s anti-fraud framework and controls

• Maintain accurate registers of complaints, investigations, outcomes, and management actions

• Ensure proper documentation, evidence handling, confidentiality, and chain of custody for all investigations

• Provide timely updates to the Head of Audit on investigation progress and key findings

Reporting & Governance Support

• Prepare clear, comprehensive audit and investigation reports for review and approval

• Present findings, risks, and recommendations to Audit Management and senior stakeholders

• Recommend governance, risk, and control improvements aligned with business objectives

• Monitor and validate the adequacy of corrective actions taken by management

Requirements

Experience & Skills

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in internal audit, fraud risk assessment, investigations, compliance, or related functions

• Experience across sectors such as Manufacturing, Real Estate, Transport, Oil & Gas, or FMCG is an advantage

• Strong working knowledge of internal controls, risk management, and corporate governance frameworks

• High proficiency in English, with Arabic fluency preferred

Professional Certifications

• At least one professional certification such as CIA, ACCA, CPA, or CISA

• Forensic certification (e.g., CFE) is a strong advantage
