Job Title: Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer
Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Instrumentation & Control (I&C) Engineer to join our operations and maintenance (O&M) team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in supervising, troubleshooting, and ensuring the integrity of I&C systems and components within the plant. This role supports technical development, maintenance planning, and long-term reliability strategies in compliance with safety, quality, and operational standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, Development & Installation

Lead the design, development, and installation of new or modified I&C equipment from an O&M perspective.

Prepare specifications for I&C components and contribute to bid preparation, evaluation, and vendor selection.

Collaborate in the implementation of modifications and upgrades to enhance performance.
Maintenance Management
-
Oversee preventive and corrective I&C maintenance activities to ensure reliability and efficiency.

Review and improve I&C maintenance procedures.

Ensure accurate SAP documentation for all I&C maintenance tasks.

Provide rapid support during breakdowns to minimize downtime and maintain plant availability.

Foster a condition-based maintenance culture with root cause analysis and reliability improvements.

Support forecasting, budgeting, and work order management.
Troubleshooting & Technical Guidance

Diagnose and resolve critical I&C issues, perform root cause failure analysis, and ensure compliance with HSE standards.

Monitor equipment performance and conduct technical feasibility studies for improvements or replacements.

Provide oversight for testing, inspection, and commissioning activities.
Outage & Shutdown Management

Plan and execute I&C shutdown maintenance in line with OEM recommendations, ensuring scope, cost, and safety standards are met.

Forecast resource and material requirements for outage periods.
Documentation

Maintain proper engineering documentation for troubleshooting, inspections, root cause analysis, and performance evaluations.

Ensure all maintenance records are logged with accuracy and completeness.
Health, Safety & Environmental Compliance

Promote adherence to HSE policies and procedures in all engineering and field activities.

Coordinate with HSSE teams to ensure safe working practices and prompt incident investigation.

Ensure proper use of protective equipment and conduct risk assessments as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (preferably Electrical or Instrumentation).

8–10 years of hands-on experience in I&C engineering in the power or industrial plant sector.

Proficient with CMMS systems (SAP preferred).

Strong knowledge of predictive maintenance tools, root cause analysis, and performance monitoring techniques.
Skills & Competencies:

Expert knowledge of I&C systems, components, and troubleshooting.

Proficient in downtime analysis and reliability tools.
-
Familiar with engineering specifications, documentation practices, and technical reporting.
-
Strong communication and coordination skills with a safety-first mindset.
