Emirates is seeking an Innovation Manager – Transition and Ops to join their Technology Futures & Innovation team. This role will focus on leveraging emerging technologies, such as AI, robotics, spatial computing, and more, to innovate and transform Emirates Group’s products and services. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving the innovation strategy, managing proof-of-concept initiatives, and scaling innovative solutions across the organization. This role also involves collaborating with business leaders and technology teams to implement the transition of successful innovations into enterprise-wide solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Innovation Strategy & Management:

   • Drive the development of innovative solutions through research and development, utilizing emerging technologies.

   • Manage the delivery of proof-of-concept (POC) projects and business models, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

   • Define and manage an annual innovation program, ensuring alignment with the strategic goals of Emirates Group.

2. Project & Portfolio Management:

   • Lead innovation projects using agile methodologies, ensuring scope, quality, and delivery within time and budget.

   • Oversee the transition of POCs into scalable, enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring smooth integration into the business.

   • Develop and maintain the innovation operating model, lifecycle framework, and governance for projects.

3. Innovation Research & Development:

   • Conduct research on next-generation technologies like AI, Blockchain, AR/VR, and quantum computing to explore their application within the aviation industry.

   • Create and maintain an “Innovation Technology Radar” to stay ahead of emerging technologies and trends.

   • Organize hackathons and engage with strategic partners to develop new business ideas and applications.

4. Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement:

   • Work with business heads and internal teams to define problem statements and ideate solutions using design thinking methodologies.

   • Foster a culture of innovation across all Emirates business units and encourage employee participation in innovation initiatives.

   • Engage with external innovation channels, including startups, universities, and incubators, to bring fresh ideas and technology into the organization.

5. Performance Measurement:

   • Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure innovation projects are delivering value aligned with organizational goals.

   • Organize events, roadshows, and innovation showcases to promote and drive the adoption of new technologies within Emirates.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Degree or Honours (12+3 or equivalent)

• Experience: Minimum of 8 years in Information Technology and Innovation management.

• Skills:

  • Extensive knowledge of innovation practices (e.g., lean startup methodology, design thinking).

  • Familiarity with emerging technologies like AI, Blockchain, AR/VR, Quantum Computing, and their business applications.

  • Strong project management skills, including Agile delivery management and business process improvement.

  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex ideas to stakeholders at all levels.

  • Ability to think creatively and “outside the box” when approaching business challenges.

  • Strong research capabilities to understand key technology and business trends.
