HSE Trainer
Met T&S (Part of Maire Group) Abu Dhabi , UAE

Met T&S, a part of the Maire Group, is seeking an HSE Trainer for their B4 project in Al Ruwais, UAE. This contract-based position involves rotation of 60 days on-site with 10 days off (paid), along with 2 days of paid travel. The HSE Trainer will be responsible for coordinating and delivering HSE training, conducting inductions, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. This position also involves developing training materials and supporting continuous improvement in HSE activities to meet project and corporate HSE objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify and assess project-specific HSE training needs.

  • Develop, organize, and coordinate mandatory HSE training courses for employees and subcontractors.

  • Deliver on-site and classroom-based HSE training sessions.

  • Ensure that all training materials are available for training events.

  • Lead and coordinate emergency drills, fire prevention, and firefighting activities.

  • Continuously update and improve training materials, collaborating with subject matter experts and other trainers.

  • Apply changes to the HSE training process in alignment with continuous improvement strategies.

  • Ensure that all training complies with company, client, local legislation, and industry best practices.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training and develop appropriate solutions to enhance competency.

  • Ensure HSE training consistency and proper documentation across all disciplines.

  • Ensure subcontractors comply with all HSE procedures and regulations.

  • Participate in work accident investigations, identifying corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.

  • Review weekly accident, incident, and near-miss reports to identify additional training needs.

  • Prepare and update Site HSE Statistics, monitor performance versus project HSE targets, and propose recovery plans as necessary.

  • Submit regular reports to the HSE Manager on the status of the training program.

Skills and Qualifications Required:

  • Education: University degree or diploma in a relevant discipline or equivalent.

  • Experience:

    • Minimum of 12-15 years of relevant experience in industrial construction, especially in large gas plants.

    • At least 2-3 projects of comparable size.

  • Skills:

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Strong attention to detail and management capabilities.

    • Team-oriented with self-motivation and a strong focus on timely performance and problem resolution.
