Hempel A/S, a global leader in the chemical industry, is seeking a Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) Engineer to oversee HSE activities at its Sharjah facility. The selected candidate will ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and Hempel’s internal HSE standards while contributing to operational sustainability.
Key Responsibilities:

Assist the Factory Manager and HSE Manager, EMEA in managing HSE activities.

Ensure compliance with operational sustainability in alignment with the Group’s strategy.

Conduct HSE inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to ensure workplace safety.
-
Monitor local HSE legislation requirements and update management on new regulations.
-
Collect, analyze, and report HSE performance data to ensure regulatory compliance.
-
Investigate HSE incidents and recommend corrective actions.

Organize and deliver HSE and sustainability training programs for employees.
-
Develop and implement HSE policies and procedures in coordination with HSE Manager, EMEA.
-
Conduct internal audits of HSE management systems to ensure compliance.

Organize HSE management review meetings and other safety initiatives.
-
Implement Safety Excellence, Continuous Improvement, and 6S Projects at the Sharjah facility.
Reporting Structure:

Direct Reporting: Factory Manager

Functional Reporting: Regional QHSE Manager
Required Qualifications & Experience:
-
Master’s degree in Industrial Safety or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a recognized Level 6 certification in Occupational Health & Safety.

Certified ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Lead Auditor with expertise in QMS, EMS, and OHSAS management systems.

2-3 years of experience in HSE management within a continuous manufacturing plant (Chemical process industry preferred).

Strong knowledge and experience in sustainability projects.

Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and ERP systems.

Excellent English communication skills.
