Position: Horticulture Engineer (Mangroves)

Job Overview:

A leading multinational design & architectural consultancy is looking for a Horticulture Engineer (Mangroves) to join their team in Dubai. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marine landscape restoration, mangrove rehabilitation, and coastal habitat projects across the UAE and the wider MENA region.

This is a direct-hire, permanent role with immediate availability.

Key Responsibilities:

Mangrove Restoration & Project Execution:

• Develop and implement horticultural plans for mangrove restoration and new projects.

• Conduct soil tests, plant health assessments, and disease management.

• Propagate and cultivate plants, including seeds, seedlings, and cuttings.

• Monitor plant growth, identify issues, and apply necessary treatments.

• Design and maintain irrigation systems for marine and coastal flora.

• Work closely with landscape architects, environmental specialists, and ecologists to ensure project success.

• Educate staff and stakeholders about mangrove horticultural best practices.

Maintenance & Resource Management:

• Develop and execute maintenance schedules for mangroves and coastal habitats.

• Prepare weekly, monthly, and incident reports on project progress and health conditions.

• Ensure adherence to modern landscape practices and best implementation methods.

• Oversee suppliers, material procurement, and manpower allocation for project efficiency.

• Conduct site inspections, manage deficiencies, and implement necessary adjustments.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Engineering, Landscape Architecture, or a related field.

• 10-12+ years of experience in marine and coastal restoration projects.

• Proven track record in managing design processes, multiple stakeholders, and sub-consultants.

• Strong knowledge of UAE’s local flora, marine and coastal habitats, and environmental regulations.

• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).

• Strong leadership and site supervision capabilities.

• Ability to work directly with clients and ensure project success.
