We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Health & Safety Officer to join our team in the UAE. This role is crucial in ensuring the highest safety standards on construction sites, preventing workplace incidents, and maintaining compliance with UAE safety regulations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction safety, risk assessment, and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

Safety Compliance & Site Management:

• Develop, implement, and enforce a comprehensive safety management system aligned with UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality regulations, and OSHAD standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and implement mitigation strategies.
• Ensure compliance with safety protocols related to working at heights, confined spaces, excavation, heavy equipment operation, and electrical safety.
• Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation for inspections, incidents, and compliance requirements.

Training & Awareness:

• Conduct safety inductions and training sessions for employees, contractors, and site personnel.
• Promote a strong safety culture through toolbox talks, safety meetings, and awareness programs.
• Provide ongoing support and guidance to site supervisors and foremen on safety best practices.

Incident Investigation & Emergency Preparedness:

• Investigate workplace accidents, near-miss incidents, and hazards, determining root causes and implementing corrective actions.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and conduct regular drills.
• Ensure first aid and emergency response equipment are available and properly maintained.

Regulatory Compliance & Reporting:

• Keep up to date with changes in UAE safety laws and industry best practices.
• Prepare and submit detailed incident reports, safety compliance reports, and risk assessments.
• Act as the primary liaison for all safety-related matters with regulatory authorities, clients, and subcontractors.

Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
• NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Safety Officer in the UAE construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of UAE labor laws, Dubai Municipality safety regulations, and OSHAD standards.
• Excellent risk assessment, incident investigation, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and leadership abilities to enforce safety policies effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite for documentation and reporting.
• Fluency in English is required; Arabic skills are an advantage.
