Health Safety Environment (HSE) Officer
Khidmah Abu Dhabi , UAE

Support day-to-day HSE operations in compliance with both Khidmah’s internal standards and client requirements. The role includes implementing HSE plans, managing site-level safety documentation, participating in client meetings, and fostering a safety-first culture. The HSE Officer will report to and support the HSE Director.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with Khidmah and client HSE regulations on-site.

  • Assist in the review of contractor HSE prequalifications and submissions.

  • Represent the HSE Director in client and stakeholder HSE meetings.

  • Deliver training, Toolbox Talks, and guidance to site staff on safety practices.

  • Maintain HSE documentation in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other relevant standards.

  • Review and approve Risk Assessments, Method Statements, and Work Permits.

  • Conduct regular site inspections, audits, safety walks, and hygiene checks.

  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans.

  • Oversee emergency preparedness, including evacuation drills and plan updates.

  • Enforce PPE compliance and promote “I See I Fix It” safety culture.

  • Coordinate and document monthly HSE Committee meetings across sites.

  • Assist in the preparation of corporate HSE reports and data compilation.

  • Report technical hazards to FM teams for systems like HVAC, fire safety, and electrical.

  • Conduct site safety inductions for new employees and contractors.


Qualifications:

  • Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Science, or Occupational Health & Safety (preferred)

  • NEBOSH IGC (minimum requirement)

  • ISO 9001 / 14001 / 45001 internal auditor certification (preferred)

  • First Aid & Firefighting certifications (advantageous)

  • Valid UAE driving license and personal transport preferred


Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant HSE experience in Facilities Management, Construction, Oil & Gas, or Manufacturing

  • 3–5 years UAE experience in a similar role


Key Competencies:

  • HSE inspections, audits, risk assessments, and root cause analysis

  • Strong knowledge of F&LS systems, safety procedures, and emergency protocols

  • Excellent written and verbal communication and reporting skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills
